Trump Accomplishments: Why Lewis Herms Says It's Time to Stop Black Pilling
There's a lot of negativity in conservative circles right now. Doom posts. "It's all rigged." "Nothing's happening." On the latest episode of ScrewBigGov, titled **The Trump Show**, host Lewis Herms decided he'd heard enough.
His question for the black pillers was simple: what good is it doing?
Joined by Matt Geiger of Verity Metals, Lewis walked through a long list of Trump accomplishments, made the case for showing up on November 3rd, and reminded viewers why discernment is the whole point of the Great Awakening. Here's a recap of the conversation.
Not Idolization, Just the Record
Lewis was upfront about where he stands. He doesn't "wholesale" anybody, and he says if President Trump is the man he believes him to be, Trump would welcome criticism. But he also wants people to look at the facts before tuning out. If you're black pilling, he says, at least make sure you're getting involved somewhere else too.
The Trump Accomplishments Lewis and Matt Highlighted
1. Borders and Immigration
Lewis pointed to a largely closed border, the end of catch-and-release, and the signing of the Laken Riley Act. He noted that many Hispanic Americans he's spoken with don't want unchecked illegal immigration either, because they see the damage it does.
Matt brought it back to everyday math. He sees seniors in his business who paid into the system for 50 years and collect $900 to $1,200 a month in Social Security, while some states hand out more generous benefits to people who arrived illegally. Putting Americans first in America, they argued, shouldn't be controversial.
2. Taxes and the One Big Beautiful Bill
The One Big Beautiful Bill, signed July 4, 2025, cut taxes on tips and overtime and added a senior deduction aimed at Social Security income. Lewis asked the obvious question: why is that bad?
Matt shared his own theory that the administration is building up revenue through tariffs and new domestic industry to pay down the national debt, eventually opening the door to a gold and silver backed currency.
3. Tariffs Are Not the Villain
If you still think tariffs are bad, Lewis says you've been sold a psyop. Every country has the right to set import duties. And if prices on some imported goods do rise, consumers get a choice, and American companies get a chance to compete.
Matt tied this back to 2016, when critics said the country needed someone with political experience. Their view: you want the toughest business negotiators at the table against Europe, Canada, and everyone else.
4. Energy, Oil, and Gas Prices
On energy, Lewis said Trump has reversed most of the old climate rules. When gas prices spike during tension with Iran, he places the blame on oil companies, not the President. His proof? Pump prices jump within a day when oil rises, but take about two weeks to fall when oil drops.
Matt added that he expects gas prices to keep climbing toward the midterms, arguing that big players have every reason to make the administration look bad because Trump's push for more competition threatens their position.
5. Cartels, Drug Prices, and Big Pharma
The hosts discussed pressure on the cartels, operations tied to Venezuela, and prescription drug prices that Lewis described as being in free fall thanks to new negotiations. He also gave credit to RFK Jr.'s work on chemicals in the food supply, while wishing it moved faster.
6. The "Trojan Horse" Theory
One of the more provocative segments covered critics who call Trump a Zionist. Lewis laid out his long-held theory: Trump stays close to Israel's leadership publicly, which takes away the "antisemite" attack, while his actions chip away at industries Lewis sees as centers of control, including legacy Hollywood, Big Pharma, and mainstream media. His tip for viewers: keep an eye on Paramount.
"No New Wars" and the Numbers
Lewis acknowledged the black pillers have a point on two promises they feel haven't been delivered: no new wars and arrests. But he offered some perspective. By his count, the Obama years saw over 100,000 bombs dropped in the Middle East, compared to roughly 200 under Trump, focused on targets like nuclear facilities. That gap, he argues, tells you the difference between a leader who likes war and one who doesn't.
Matt pointed to the Abraham Accords and Saudi Arabia's growing role as signs of a peace-first strategy, while both hosts argued that the deep state is now pouring its energy into keeping the Ukraine and Russia conflict going.
The Secret Service Story
Lewis read a viral post attributed to a Secret Service agent who said Trump had "ruined" him for the job. Not because Trump was difficult, but because he learned the agent's name, his wife's and kids' names, asked about his son's baseball games, made sure his team ate first, and quietly attended his father's funeral with no cameras present.
Matt said he's heard similar stories from many people: Trump is a different man behind the scenes than the one the media portrays.
Why You Should Still Vote in the Midterms
This was the heart of the episode. Lewis, who has run for office and works as an election investigator, says the system is rigged. He also says that's exactly why you need to vote.
His reasoning: less than 50% of conservatives typically vote in midterms. If 90% showed up, stealing an election would become nearly impossible. Bad actors can manufacture votes when large groups stay home. Opting out, he says, creates a vacuum, and "parasites live in a vacuum."
He also noted Pete Hegseth's move to put a cyber team on election fraud as a hopeful sign, and highlighted Trump's message urging voters to back endorsed candidates on November 3rd.
The $5,000 Proposal and the Bond Market
The hosts discussed a reported Trump pitch to give every U.S. adult $5,000 if Republicans hold Congress, regardless of party. Lewis framed it as tied to the looming bond market problem: more money back in the hands of the people means a healthier economy.
His bigger fix? Cut spending down to around 20% of what it is now by going after what he calls WARF: waste, abuse, redundancy, and fraud. Matt believes DOGE hasn't gone away at all and that fraud findings will lead to deportations, prison sentences, and accountability for politicians.
Work Ethic and the "He's Doing It for Money" Myth
Lewis pushed back hard on the claim that Trump is in office to get rich. He pointed to reports that Trump lost billions during his first term and self-funded his 2016 run. His question: why would anyone put a target on their back for money they could have made more easily, and more peacefully, in the private sector?
He also highlighted Trump's pace on the campaign trail, including three rallies in 30 hours with another stop in Dayton, Ohio the next day. Why work that hard, Lewis asks, if he's such a bad guy?
The Real Lesson: Keep Your Discernment
Lewis closed with the reason he wanted to do this show. Many people absorb what the black pillers say without running it through their own filter. But discernment is what brought everyone here in the first place. Don't put it on a shelf just because someone you follow says something. Use it.
As Lewis put it: we the people are the plan.
Protecting Your Wealth With Precious Metals
Matt shared his view that a banking crisis is still ahead, and that ordinary savers could see serious losses. His advice: keep what you need in checking and savings, but move excess savings and especially retirement accounts into physical metals.
**Verity Metals** offers gold, silver, and platinum coins, bars, and rounds, plus IRA rollovers, at what Lewis says is roughly a third of the fees other companies charge. Their online store is now live.
